With an excellent location in the heart of Chicago near the Loop, our new Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North hotel is the ideal home base for your next business or leisure trip. It probably doesn't bother others as it did me.About Home2 Suites By Hilton Chicago River North I can hear a pin drop in the night, so I am the extreme opposite. My wife is a heavy sleeper and didn't notice at all. At night I could hear the music from above, and then I could hear tables dragging across the floor while cleaning until 2am almost every night. While the rooftop bar (called VU) was a nice place with stunning view, I would recommend to not stay near the top floor of the hotel if you are sensitive to noises. Anatasia and Nyce were a pleasure to talk with and both went out of their way to help us. I say small, but still nice to see! Two people at the front desk really stood out as being very friendly and helpful. We were on the 20th floor and had a small view of the lake. The room was spacious with a great couch, and as a bonus there was a pull-out table from under the desk that happened to be the perfect working height while sitting on the couch. The complimentary morning breakfast had a good variety, and offered a few choices that I hadn't seen at hotels prior. There are 2 convenient stores across the street that allowed us to get some items to throw in our full size fridge back at the room. I love that the Home2 Suites brand has a kitchen in the room so that we didn't have to leave for every single meal (or snack). Overall this was a really nice hotel with great access to the convention center and also easy access to Michigan Ave to get to downtown (and Starbucks is located in the lobby!). On a positive note, the woman working the early shift on Thursday morning at the front desk was as helpful as her company would allow her to be.… For this reason alone I would t recommend Hilton as a company to support as there are so many hotel options I could choose from for my personal travel, there is no reason to repeat this experience at another one of their properties. I didn’t complain when found the dirty dishes from the previous guest in my dishwasher… but this fee issue obviously seemed to be beyond “how to treat a guest well” school of thinking. When I questioned the additional fee I was informed “ that they needed to have time to clean the room…” Not sure how my $25 fee would assist in that - as I couldn’t get a more specific explanation. I explained I would probably still be at work could they do 2pm- and they replied “ it will cost you $25” I was somewhat shocked as I am a Hilton member and I expected to be treated a little better and they charge enough for the room so why the $25 fee- it seemed so petty. I was surprised that this hotel is the type that charges “by the hour” ?! I stayed a week for work and when it came to check out I asked if I could get a later check- out and they said they could give me until 1pm.
